Types Of Bones

What do you mean by Bones ?
Total bones constitute skeletal system there are 270 bones at the time of birth but increase in age decreases bones to 206 some common bones are :-
 1.Skull:- The skull includes the bones of our face ,forehead, the back of our head  .it consists of 22 bones  the main function of brain is to protect the brains

2.The Back Bones(spinal cord):- The backbones or spine  is made up of 33 small bones called vertebrae. The backbone  protects the delicate spinal cord.


3.Long bones:- Long bones are in the upper and lower arms .they are also present in the upper legs and lower legs .but they are also present in metacarpals (bones present in hand,wrist,finger bones)and metatarsals (bones of mid-foot).
ex:-appendicle skeleton ,lower limbs (tibia,fibula,femur,etc,.),upper limbs .



4.Flat bones:- This type of bones works as extensive s protection and provisions for broad surfaces for muscular attachments  and look like broad flat plates. For example:- skulls,hip bones,rib cage,etc,.

5.Short bones:- This is only type of bone which is classified by its shape  .most of the short  bones look like cube that it its length is equal to the diameter/width/depth.
ex:-Carpals and Tarsals.(bones of wrist and foot.)



6.Irregular bones:- Irregular bones hepls in protection of nervous tissue ,affrods multiple anchor points for skeletal muscles ,supports pharynx and trachea.
Ex:- Sacrum and Mandible (lower jaw). 

      

7.Seamed bones: seamed bones are usually found as short bones or irregular bones .
Ex:-pisiform,patella(knee cap)
